Preparing work for exhibition

Posted on November 23, 2024September 27, 2025 by admin

One of my paintings was selected for the upcoming ‘Open: The People’s Exhibition’ at Leicester Museum so I have taken it to be re-framed. When I previously exhibited it in Melbourne, I felt that the frame was too neutral, and the work got lost amongst the others. In order for it to stand out amongst a large number of other works, I have re-framed it in a dark brown that matches the darkest shadows in the painting. It has just arrived back and I think it looks much better- I’ll have to wait and see the effect once it is hung. The exhibition is running from 14th December to 31st January at Leicester Museum and Art Gallery.

Previously, the work didn’t stand out
