Our Walking the City brief challenges us to explore the city through the act of walking. We aim to increase our understanding of the urban landscape through immersing ourselves in it. To start out, we walked as a group through the city. I took photographs of sights that interested me whilst thinking about how I will respond to the brief. I enjoyed this exercise and it was thrilling to pass through unseen passageways and parts of the city that I had overlooked before.
For my project I would like to continue exploring areas that are new to me. I find it interesting that there are places ‘unseen’ by passers-by, yet are integral to the structure of the city. I may try seeking out these quiet places to photograph for the project. Below are some of the photographs I took while exploring.
